XNova: Erwin Edition is a strategic space simulation game where the object of the game is to expand into space and conquer anyone that gets in your way. XNova is unlike most games as it is not a visual feast but more a mental and social endeavor where the players are constantly contemplating their next move.
Don't let this discourage you. This game will quickly become very addictive, some of you may even turn into clock counting zombies waiting for your minerals to build up or for a fleet to finally arrive at it's destination.
Unlike conventional games XNova is completely browser based which means it can be played on anything capable of displaying a website. XNova is also dependent on real time. So you will often be left waiting hours for a fleet of cargo ships to reach a distant solar system or sometimes even days waiting for an advanced facility to be constructed.
When you register and create an account in XNova you will become the ruler of your home world, which will be one of the literally tens of thousands of planets available. The first thing you will want to focus on is getting your resource production up by constructing various mines and factories. You will also be required to initiate research in various areas to unlock previously unavailable technology.
Once you have the cash flowing you will find yourself constructing a shipyard. This is when the game really starts to take off. Soon after you will be counting down the seconds to when your first colony ship finally colonizes that uncharted area of space, expanding your empire. There is much more to XNova then simply building units and colonizing planets however and you would be wise to gain contact with any other players around your planet. Working out some diplomatic relations with other empires will be crucial to your success. But don't be so nieve as to trust anyone unless they have proven their loyalty. If you play your cards right you may find yourself joining an Alliance which will in turn greatly increase your chances of survival in this rouge universe.
